Generation Y car from Ford

Ford's new concept car, the Synus was the talk of the Detroit motor show. It will be the car of choice for Generation Y, if they can get the price down.

Chief designer Joe Baker affectionately describes the Synus (pronounced sin-you-ess) as "a tough little guy" that appeals to young people drawn to gritty urban environments

The concept was inspired by a projection that 50 percent of the world's population will be living in cities by 2010. These youthful urban dwellers, the Synus theory goes, will want a car that's small enough to park easily but safe enough to leave anywhere.

This is Ford tough, redefined for Generation Y buyers confident enough to go small. "They don't really care if someone says, 'Oh, look at your stupid little car,'" says Baker

With a 45 inch flat screen, live feed camera;s to replace mirros and rear windows this thing is as close to a computer game as an product has ever been. It is as useful parked, given its capacity for entertainment, as it is for driving. It is the Gen Y version of the "Shaggin-Wagon" of the 70's.

I love it!!! Check out the picture http://www.freep.com/autos/photos/autoshow_2005/fordsynus/index.htm

Video on demand

I say to my clients. To be appealing to Generation Y, your products/services (or better still experiences) must be interactive. Gen Y are not into passive experiences. They ant user controlled experiences that give them what they want, when they ant it. Like always, the US are leading the race when it comes to meeting the needs of the Generation Y consumer. Video on demand. This is Foxtel Digital on Steroids. Shoose from over 1,500 hours of entertainment. It is like having a movie Ipod on your TV screen. Very Cool...

Even the bible is being gen'y'morphed.

It appears as though even the Christians are trying to stay cool and hip in the eyes of Generation Y. A teenage girl targeted magazine, christian based, is being used to teach girls about God, and actually comes complete with dating tips and all. Refuel is also available for teen boys. These and other teen friendly bible publications such as 'True Images' and 'Revolution' (targeted at girls and boys respectively)  are even beginning to use advertising in some risky magazines such as Rolling STone and on, dare I say it, MTV. Omigish...
